Unpopular opinion:
I don’t like red wine.
There, I said it. I feel better now 🙂
BUTTTTTTT, there is one exception, and that is red sangria! Turns out I like red wine IF it’s cold, and IF has lots of fruit mixed in LOL! And this summer, I’ve been ordering it wherever I see it’s offered when out and about. So I decided to play around in the kitchen, and create my own recipe, which I think is the perfect balance of wine to fruity sweetness ratio!
And with Memorial Day being this weekend, I think it’s the perfect ‘kickoff to summer’ drink…refreshing, fruity, and super easy to make! And if you don’t drink alcohol, I share a non-alcoholic wine with you at the bottom of this post!
And beyond Memorial Day, serve this at baby or bridal showers, for cinco de mayo, or really any party you’re hosting! It’s refreshing, and will be a hit wherever it’s served, I assure you!
I hit up Trader Joe’s to find all of the stuff I needed to make my own sangria recipe, and I think I nailed it! I included a white wine version too, including the same additional ingredients, but in different amounts, so look at the recipes carefully! I’ll also give you some options if you don’t have a TJ’s close to you, that will give you a similar effect!
First thing you’ll want to do is make sure everything is chilled! Then it’s time chop up the fruit into bite-sized pieces!
Put the fruit and wine of choice into the pitcher! Pop it in the fridge to chill for at least an hour and have the fruit absorb some of the wine.
After that, pour the sparkling limeade, blood orange soda, and pineapple juice in, and stir! Pop back in fridge until ready to serve!
I always serve it over ice with a garnish of lemon, lime and orange wedges!
Here are the recipes, in an easy to print format! See the notes section for substitutions, and other tips I find important!

What I love the most about sangria is that it’s all about what you have on hand at the time, and that you can customize it however you want! So raise a glass (or two) and enjoy!
I’ve been know to go sober for extended periods of time (read why HERE), and enjoy exploring mocktails because of it!!! The easiest way to make sangria into mocktails is to use non-alcoholic wine. Ariel is my go-to because I can get it off Amazon Prime, and they have a pair of cab and chardonnay for around $30!
If you shop my Amazon links, I make a small commission, at no added cost to you! Please know I’m so grateful!
Also, I’ve linked some of my favorite sangria pitchers in my Kitchen tab in my Amazon Store! These would make amazing gifts BTW! Click HERE to see five or six of them, including the one below (click on pic to get the link)…
Same for the sugar skull stemless wine glasses! You’ll see a few sets in the Kitchen tab in my store, but here are some similar to mine (click on pic to get the link)…
I’ve teamed up with some other blogger friends of mine to share their favorite cocktails and mocktail recipes, so be sure to check out what they have up their sleeves here:

I die! This looks amazing!
Easy and tasty!!!
