‘Find me at…’ Friday!!!

March 3, 2017

Are you in need of some fun picks for this weekend?! Look no further; I’ve gotcha covered!

Another skyline pic from my balcony!

Yall are starting to know the drill by now, right?! This is where I tell you what we have going on this weekend, and also things around town where you may find Miranda in Charlotte 😉 We have kids’ birthday parties (always, #amiright?!), and then we’re taking the minis to App Ski Mountain for their first time to ski/snowboard!!! Joshua used to work there when we went to ASU, and his mom currently works there, so it holds a special place in his heart! It’s also where he told me he loved me the first time, by spray painting huge letters on the side of the mountain in the snow! Awwwwwwwe. 😉 But here’s what you can find around the QC this weekend…

March 3rd-March 5th

  • Seussical, the musical…Showtime Theatre Company is presenting Seussical Jr., which features many of your beloved Seuss characters as their stories collide in this entertaining production starring some of the most talented young people in the area, including my dear friend, Savannah! This is a family friendly, not to be missed event! Tickets are $15 at the door, and the shows are at McCelvey Center in York, SC! Friday, 7:30, Saturday 2 & 7:30, and Sunday 2pm are the showtimes!

  • City Barbeque…They are celebrating their grand opening of their Matthews location Saturday 10:30am-10pm, but the activities are taking place from 10:30am-2pm! Ribbon cutting is first at 10:30am, and then the Carolina Panthers Purrcussion will be there from 11am-noon, and Sir Purr from 11:45-12:45! Free giveaways and balloon twirlings will be taking place the whole time. And I LOVE that they’re giving 10% of sales from the entire day to Bright Blessings, a wonderful local non-profit!

  • Charlotte Roller Derby…They’re celebrating their season opener with a double header March 4th, with the doors opening at the Grady Cole Center at 4:30pm, and the first match starting at 5! That will be the Charlotte Roller Girls Allstars vs the Tallahassee Roller Girls, and then the B-Dazzlers will be talking on the Carolina Rollergirls after that. You can buy your tickets at Sleepy Poet and Common Market, or here…

  • Pure Pizza…they are debuting their new brunch menu, from 10:30am-4pm this Sunday at BOTH locations (Central Ave & 7th)!!! We love the 7th street spot because we can walk or bike there, but either one is fantastic! They’re offering biscuits and gravy, pimento cheese grits, waffle rancheros, and so many other amazing-sounding options, that I have no idea which one to choose!

{Pro tip: take the light rail to the last stop (7th) and the public market is on your left!}

About Me

About Me

Hey Peeps!

I'm Miranda, and I'm formerly lots of things (I sold dumpsters, fro-yo, and car parts to name a few), but most recently I was a cakery owner of Got What It Cakes. I'm a mom of two daughters whom I call my "minis,” and the wife to Joshua, whom I call "Stud" (yes, he's even in my phone under that name). Most days you can find me oversharing about my insane life on my InstaStories, in a segment I call "carpool confessions." Follow along as I decide what to be when I grow up, while I navigate my other love, the queen city of Charlotte! I also tend to go by "Mayor Miranda," and am awaiting my key to the city ;) Read More

xo, Miranda
